I just got them today. The packaging was nice, and I could clearly see the items inside. All eight were snugly fit side by side. They're made a bit lighter than I thought, but since they're toys, I figure it's cool. A few of the legs to move a bit, so you can make minor changes in the way they stand and look. You do have to be careful though, the legs do come off, but slip right back in, so not a big deal. On the grey armored suit, the entire back, with the extra arms comes off. I don't know it it's supposed to, but it didn't seem like it broke, and it actually was cool, because I could take a closer look at some of the pieces. The pods, where the people sit, on the back of all the Tachikomas are movable as well, but do not open. (Bummer) The level of detail is awesome. The claw feet on three of them are movable as well, the ones with wheels, either don't or just have to be wiggled loose, like the other movable parts, I'm not sure yet. In the end, a great purchase, worthy of either a serious collection, or just as a gift for the fan in your life, or yourself. They would go great in a permanent display, or on a shelf by themselves, but we're most likely going to find out just how durable they are as both our children are very interested, especially the one year old.
They probably aren't meant for small children, as small pieces can break off, or just slip off, so if a small child does get a hold of them, either take it away quickly, or watch them close!

I love these! I was so glad to find them online! I couldn't make it to Comic-Con, but I really wanted to go just for some Tachikoma figures, but thanks to Amazon and the seller, I was able to get more than I'd expected since I bought the whole set here! They've been great[...] . If you love the think-tanks from Ghost in the Shell, I highly recommend getting these.

These Tachikomas are pretty much the cutest toys ever. There are six tachikomas here, and each is about the perfect size to fit on your palm. They aren't overtly durable, they are made of a pretty soft plastic. Also, they aren't a very shiny finish. I think a metallic finish would've been better, they are more matte. They are still really cool for display and entertaining for your desk. I think they are a good purchase. These are definitely not for kids, as they come apart easily (the legs and carapace can be taken off, attachment is via ball joints). These are purely for teenager/adult entertainment.

Figure specs:
~Each figure measures roughly 2x3 inches, which means they essentially fill the palm of your hand.
~Though small, they are quite detailed: eyes, lights, lettering, etc. are clearly visible.
~Their legs are poseable!
It's true that their plastic and paint seem rather cheap, but they probably won't break too easily. Still, I'd recommend handling them carefully, just in case.
Anyway, if you or someone you know is a GITS fan and loves tachikomas, this set is a good buy.
